It's been nearly a month since I've written a meaningful post. I sort of stopped because Jenna Colvin is on a mission and she was a big supporter of my blog so I don't feel like I'm writing to anyone. Well, Jenna Colvin scolded me (and possibly others) in her e-mail this week and said that blogging is for yourself not for others. Good point Hermana Colvin.
So here I am. I'm home, in West Valley, ready to take on the summer. Do I have any huge plans or goals for the next several months? Not really. I know where I want to end up and I'll do whatever it takes to get there but I'm not going to set my expectations too high. I did that last summer and was mildly let down.
Isn't it funny how you can see yourself in a particular situation, whatever it be, but due to your own inaction and choices, you don't ever get there? You always want to blame others or the circumstances but in the end it was all you. Inaction. What a weakness. That's what caused last summer to be less fulfilling for me. I didn't act. Each time I say I'm going to take that leap of faith, something happens, it's fear more often than not, and I don't jump. I can improve that. I need to improve that.
I support your blog!
ReplyDeleteAnd here's a suggestion. Last summer I had a whole bunch of stuff that I wanted to happen, so I got my whiteboard and wrote down the whole list! I put every personal goal I had, even the ones I thought would be hard. And then I set it up in my room so I saw it every day. And the thing was that after I wrote them down, they were always in the back of my mind! All the little things I wanted to improve about myself, or accomplish. And I completed ALL OF THEM.
I am a firm believer in writing goals down now.
So... that's my two cents :)
Very good advice, Madeline.

ReplyDeleteWait I support your blog too! I may be way slow, but I always read eventually. And this summer is going to be a blast, even if we do nothing but play Ultimate and Hockey, go on a few epic hikes, and have the occasional crazy adventure.
