Today I want to discuss miracles. Seeing as how today is Sunday I feel that this is a rather appropriate topic. I want to discuss one miracle that occurred to me this week.
Near the end of this week I was struggling to get ahead. I felt like nothing I did was going right and that everyone was just passing me up. The cards I was being dealt seemed to never be in my favor and no matter what strategy I implemented, I just ended up getting the shaft. I was definitely becoming discouraged and a little put out. I sort of felt like giving up, not even trying anymore. I was questioning why I was even still playing the game.
Finally! Finally, my luck turned for some reason. I was finally given a hand that I could manage on my own without needing help from anyone else. I'm somewhat a prideful person and like doing things without the aid of others. As I sat and pondered on my new situation, I began hoping and praying for the miracle that I wasn't sure if I had the faith to be allowed. Finally I decided to take the plunge and take a leap of faith. When it was all said and done, I sat there stunned for only a moment and then burst into wild and frenzied excitement. I couldn't believe it. I was given that which I desired most at the time; and everything, although momentary, seemed perfect.
On the table, now thrown face upward for all to see, were eleven playing cards, Phase 10 cards actually. All eleven cards were in numerical order from 2 to 12. All I needed to accomplish my unrelenting "run of eight" was a measly seven. When I drew that card on my first turn in that round and saw that it was a seven, I couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe it to the point that I even took a picture of it!
you are too great.
