Looking forward to: The Strip

I will be the first person to admit that Las Vegas and the Strip in particular are terrible, terrible places. The streets are littered with porn, people selling you "watty one dolly", and the temptation to put up your mortgage on a round of roulette is ever present. However, I will also be the first person to admit that Las Vegas and the Strip in particular are awe-inspiring, magical places. The hotel/casinos are a tribute to the amazing engineering strides our society has made. Millions of pulsating lights attest to the ability to attract millions of people into casinos, restaurants, and hotels. The free shows are a dream to any college student wanting to have fun on Spring Break.

I look forward to walking down the Strip in the cool air mesmerized by all the lights, shows, and buildings. I look forward to walking in and out of hotels and shops with even more amazement on my face then the last time I ventured to Vegas. I look forward to seeing ancient Rome designed with today in mind. I look forward to seeing a giant pyramid with a beam of light that can be seen from space. I look forward to seeing King Arthur's castle, the canals of Venice, the fountains of Bellagio, I look forward to seeing it all.
